How to delete your data

This page explains how to remove data that the CRM received from WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram (Meta). Your agency may use the CRM under its own name; these steps apply either way. For everything else we hold, see our Privacy Policy: https://techuni.com/privacy.

If you are an agency using the CRM

1. Disconnect the account in the CRM
Sign in as an admin and go to Settings > Platform Connections. Next to WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram, click the bin icon, tick "I understand the consequences", and click Disconnect. Syncing from that account stops straight away. This does not delete messages or conversations already stored in the CRM.

2. Remove our app in Facebook
In Facebook, go to Settings & privacy > Settings > Apps and Websites, find TechUni, and click Remove. This cancels the access you gave us. For WhatsApp, you can also remove the TechUni app's access in Meta Business Suite / Business Settings > Integrations / Connected apps.

3. Delete data already stored
Disconnecting stops syncing but does not delete stored messages or conversations. To have stored data deleted, email privacy@techuni.com from an admin's email address asking us to delete your agency's Meta-sourced data. We complete deletion within 30 days. You can also delete individual conversations, leads and contacts yourself in the CRM.

If you are a student or other contact of an agency

Your agency decides how your messages and details are kept, so please ask the agency first. You can also email privacy@techuni.com with your name, phone number or Facebook/Instagram name, and the agency's name. We'll check who you are, then pass the request to the agency or act on it as the agency instructs.

What gets deleted

For a full Meta data deletion request, we delete:

• WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram messages and attached media;
• Facebook and Instagram comments, Page and profile information, and post insights received from Meta;
• contact names, phone numbers and Meta user IDs received from Meta;
• our own Meta connection data;
• stored access tokens and the connected account and number details;
• raw webhook records from Meta.

Leads already created in the CRM stay as the agency's own records, because the agency is the controller of that data and TechUni is its processor. If you are an individual asking about your data, please contact the agency; we will help the agency on request via privacy@techuni.com.

Some records may be kept where the law requires it, such as billing records. Database backups are kept for 7 days and then overwritten, so deleted data drops out of backups within 7 days after deletion.

Timeline

• Agency account closure: data is deleted within 30 days of the account closing, and backups roll off within a further 7 days.
• Disconnecting or removing the app: syncing stops immediately. Stored data is not deleted until you ask us.
• Email requests: we reply within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days, then confirm by email.
